MY HUMBLE OPINION ON THE NEW APPLE PRODUCTS
Despite that my blog is for my experiences with different devices, interfaces and revolves around usability, it’s been a while since my last post and I decided that it was time for another one, on a different topic. Earlier this week Apple announced its most recent products the Apple Watch coming next year and the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. There were various reactions and some were satisfied, while other somewhat disappointed… and yet others found a way to give the Apple-Android fight another round. And yes we have seen this already previous years, we saw it now and will keep on seeing it in the coming years.
But let me tell you something. As an "Apple fanboy", the way people label me recently, I don’t really care about the Nexus 6 from 2012, Lumia 1020 with 42 megapixel camera or Galaxy 5 with waterproof coating. And not because I am crazy about Apple, I like their products in general but that doesn’t mean I lose my sense of reality or have my feet soft like jelly when I enter an Apple store. It is because I don’t even need a smartphone, I need an iPhone! So let me tell you why. When a person enters an Apple store, he does not go there to buy a smartphone, laptop or tablet. Because Apple don’t sell smartphones, laptops or tablets. Just as Red Bull don’t sell energy drinks, Tesla Motors don’t produce cars and Forbes don’t sell you news. They sell you the feeling of belonging to a community of like-minded people. A community that you don’t really know, but have a common language with. A community that craves tools to unleash its creativity and Apple just happens to be the one to make those tools. A community that does not live in 2012, but rather one that thinks and lives in the future. A community that is usually considered crazy and one of misfits and rebels. A community of trouble makers and round pegs in square holes. But also a community that sees things differently and cares neither about the rules, nor about the status quo. We don’t care if you quote us or disagree with us, glorify or vilify us, but don’t you even for a second dare to ignore us. Because we change things. We invent. We imagine. We heal. We explore. We create. We inspire. We push the human race forward.* I love you all and don't care which platform you support and wish that you enjoy your weekend! *Ideas reference the text written by Rob Siltanen with participation of Lee Clow for “The crazy ones” campaign by Apple inc.
