A COUPLE OF ISSUES THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED
This rant will discuss two issues that I ran into lately. The first one is a keyboard layout on a game for the iPad. After installing the game you are required to enter the names of your character (you will be a football manager after all). So the thing that got my eye in the negative way was the placement of the button for removing text characters.
It would be a much better solution to place it where it normally resides on a typical hardware keyboard. Small defect that caused me some confusion me and I literally froze not being able to understand how to clear the text I had just entered since the button was not where I was expecting it to be. The second issue is related to Skype on MacOS. I received an invitation to add a new friend (one of our new colleagues in office). The block button is placed to the very left and after reading the content it was the first thing to get my attention. For the first few seconds I did not even see that there were any other options since they are far to the right.
I guess accept/decline is an action one does typically do much more often so they should be made more prominent e.g. by placing them to the very left. I guess this issue would not be present with the current layout if all three buttons had lesser whitespace between the left group and the right group since then they would all be visible the very moment you opened Skype.
