EMERGENCY! I TOOK A SHOWER
As part of the civilized community I take a shower at least once a day. Therefore, it's quite likely that I run into some funny situation in the bathroom ... related to usability of course :) The most recent one took place some months ago but it took me quite some time to get the inspiration to write it down and share with the rest of the world. I was in a hotel and upon entering the bathroom for the first time my attention was captured by the "Emergency String".
One could brag about the labeling since neither you press, nor it is a button, which I consider to be quite obvious. The reason for making this string extremely usable is the shower curtain placement. It is so usable that I bet it gets pulled unintendedly every now and then together with the curtain. The problem is that from the inside the string is completely occluded and when grabbing the end of the curtain, it is more than likely to fetch the string as weel, which is only about ten centimeters away. I didn't pull the string myself but only due to the fact that I was extremely careful when reaching for the curtain and always left it at least half a meter away from its end point.
